The SunThe sun is the earth's closest star and is composed of mostly hydrogen and helium. It is known as the gaseous sphere and is also known as the yellow dwarf. Its powerhouse is buried in the central core. Granulation is a pattern that the sun creates. Solar wind is the factor that propels gases into the solar system. Solar wind is also the result of gas expansion in the corona, one of the sun's gas layers, leading to ionic formation. Hydrogen and helium exists within our star through a nuclear fusion process. During this process, a gravitational pull occurs. It is because of this same pull that the earth orbits the sun the way it does. On the other hand the sun has it's own rotation, but not all of it rotates at the same time, this type of rotation is called the differential rotation. The sun is consist of many zones. These zones are the radiation, convection, and photosphere. It also contains two layers of gas, chromosphere and corona. It is wondered by many what kind of rays the sun gives off. The most commonly known are ultra violet rays, when in reality the sun releases two others, radio and x-rays. |
