The remnants of the supernova. A supernova is classified as a star that dramatically increass in brightness, then slowly dims again, and fade away eventually. The collapsing matter as seen above is called the supernova's progenitor. A million times brighter than a nova, accomodating for the prefix "super," it emits enough energy to supply the sun with enough energy for its entire life.
